Academics:Phonics: We will be starting silent letters this week. We will study words with mb, gn, kn, and wr. See the graphic & video below for what to expect. Reading: We will continue to retell & compare familiar fairy tales & fables. Last week we read 5 versions of Little Red Riding Hood! This week we will take an assessment on comparing & contrasting and do a Little Red Riding Hood BREAK OUT activity! Grammar: We will begin studying shades of meaning. We will learning about shades of meaning in regards to adjectives and verbs. Writing: We will continue working on opinion pieces. Students will write letters to one another to share their favorite characters, parts, and pictures in a book. Students will also write about their favorite version of Little Red Riding Hood that we read. Math: We will continue adding 4 two digit numbers together. Social Studies: Social Studies: We will start learning about Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts of America.
