Our field trip to the safety village was so fun and educational! We learned about fire safety, water safety, gun safety, bus safety, bike safety, train safety, dog safety, and stranger danger. Ask your kids to share with you what they learned! Check out this informational video by Cobb County Schools that does a great job of explaining the 7 standards we're covering in our current math unit. Below is the parent letter the county created. This is a tough unit so please refer back here if your child is struggling with these concepts. Please don’t forget to return the fire safety release form & homework. Also, for the field trip, be sure to send a coat & use a disposable bag if you’re bringing a lunch from home. Homework this week has a phonics trifold with it that is NOT stapled to the packet. Please keep an eye out for this. Our spelling pattern for the week is air, ear, and are. We are learning about opinion writing through these wonderful read alouds! Many of your kids said they’d be willing to do the dishes or change diapers for a puppy or a trip they’ve been wanting! I was quite impressed their their reasoning skills. My fiancé, however, was not convinced that I need a puppy. :( We have also been learning to find adjectives in our books and also to describe characters by their traits! MATH CENTERS: Here are some of the great books we are reading about MLK Jr. and Jackie Robinson!
